VOTE — Tuesday, November 2

Remember to VOTE!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Your voice matters, not only in the upcoming election on Tuesday, but in your work with our schools.  Voting is one of the most effective ways to communicate what you want for your children.  As the students’ most powerful advocates, it is imperative that you speak up at the ballot box.  Over the last several elections, our parent turnout has been below 20%.  Effective representation can happen only if everyone votes.  Parents can be the most informed voters in school elections because you witness the needs, challenges, and successes of our district every day. You also know the goals and dreams of your students and are passionate about supporting those aspirations.  I always feel so fortunate to be an American, a citizen who has the freedom and is encouraged to vote!  Take time to learn about the candidates and decide who will best represent your goals for the District and your child(ren).  Your single vote makes a difference.  Thank you for being involved and for taking the time to care about your School Board.                                  Much Gratitude, Dr. Meyer, Superintendent

On Tuesday, November 2nd, let your voices be heard.  VOTE!

  • Polling sites are open 8:00am – 8:00pm
  • Look up your polling place:  use the County Elections Office polling place search tool.

From the World of Teaching and Learning

We have been working diligently to provide an ongoing opportunity for our parents to review the curricular materials that are currently in use in our classrooms.  There are three different ways for you to interact with the current curriculum resources.

  • We have a copy of each textbook at the District Office.  You are free to stop by at your convenience to look through any of the materials.
  •  We will link a document with all of the titles on our District website.
  • The document that will be housed on our District website is here for your convenience.

If you have any questions, please be sure to contact Dr. Paslay for elementary questions and Lisa Sexton for secondary questions by calling 208-687-0431 or emailing them.

We DO NOT Teach CRT

At the LJSD Board meeting on Thursday, October 14th the Board of Trustees unanimously approved a Resolution that outlined the District’s opposition to Critical Race Theory (CRT).  The Resolution also highlighted the fact that Idaho has a law on the books that makes it illegal for CRT to be taught in Idaho schools.  LJSD Board Resolution re: CRT

Thank you for your support of our teachers and your children!  Our strong Parent/School partnership helps to create the best learning environment for each of our students.  We are proud of all that our students accomplish!
